Opya
Chief People Officer
January 20, 2022
Organization
Opya is on a mission to change the world for children with Autism and their families. Today there is a massive gap in available care options, creating significant wait times for kids to receive treatment. The need is immediate and enormous. We aim to close this gap by connecting evidence-based, in-home autism therapies with complementary virtual services and the latest technology. We have a proprietary technology platform that enables parents and clinicians to communicate more efficiently, HIPAA-compliant. We are dedicated to achieving clinical goals and generating better outcomes faster, while improving the overall experience for children and their families so they can live life to its fullest potential.
We are a mission-driven team committed to creating purpose-filled and rewarding careers for our team members. Culture is critically important as we enter our next phase of growth. We’ve grown from 12 employees in March 2020 to 130 employees in December 2021, and we expect to be at 300+ in 18 months. We currently operate across Northern California and will expand into new geographies to meet the massive demand for services.
We have an incredibly supportive board and have received significant capital through our Series A to fund our next phase of growth and have the following investors behind us: Panoramic Ventures, Softbank Opportunity Fund, Disability Opportunity Fund, Divergent Investments, Altitude Ventures, among others.
Position Summary
The CPO will have a critical role at the organization and will hold a primary seat at the executive table. The CPO is both strategic and hands-on, exercising professional judgement to know when to go between the two. The CPO impacts the organization as a culture leader – thinking about all the details that add up to create the broad culture - and by leading a team that will attract and retain the best possible clinical, administrative, and corporate employees. We collaborate as a team and make purposeful, informed decisions quickly. We focus on doing the things we do really well, rather than doing 20 things halfway.
A successful CPO at Opya aligns with our mission and understands the importance of building a collaborative, mission-driven team that is engaged and has the ability to thrive with our guidance, support, and coaching.
The CPO will drive efficient scaling of operational HR processes – through technology solutions where possible - as Opya continues its significant growth path. The CPO drives strategic human capital thinking and then operationalizes long and short-term goals through detailed, actionable, measurable processes across talent acquisition, development/evaluation and retention, compensation/total rewards, HR/HCM systems, analytics and records management, payroll, employee relations, diversity, training, benefits and compliance.
The goal of the HR team? To brand the organization as an employer of choice for attracting the best talent available, critical to achieving Opya’s mission, and retaining, engaging, and building our people.
